One of the nation’s leading authorities on the First Amendment and mass media policy, C. Edwin Baker is the Nicholas F. Gallicchio professor of law and professor of communications at the University of Pennsylvania. His distinctive scholarship has led to a new interpretation of the First Amendment and freedom of expression focusing on individual responsibility and autonomy rather than the marketplace of ideas. His most recent book, Media Concentration and Democracy: Why Ownership Matters (Cambridge, 2007) will be discussed at this special lecture/seminar sponsored by two areas of the Graduate School of Business as part of a year-long lecture series.
