Counseling

Personal concerns can include: need for career assessment, resume and cover letter editing, concerns over your interviews or job search, or how to negotiate the right salary. In fact, if it is a career related issue of any nature, the CS staff would be glad to assist you.

Appointments

Hours for personal career counseling are available most week days from 10AM to 7PM, Monday to Thursday, and from 10AM to 5PM on Fridays at the Career Service office located on 33 West 60th Street, on the 4th Floor. Making an individual appointment in advance is required, due to the many activities of the CS staff. Note: A quick e-mail is the most effective approach to arrange an appointment.

Career Management Series

This required program for all entering 1st Year MBA students consists of five seminars and one individual mock interview session, which provide students with skills/values assessment, career goal definition and proactive job search skills, such as resume writing, networking, and intensive, industry-specific, interview training. It also includes relevant Career Panels to assist students in deciding upon what job function and industry are their best career fit.

Mock Interviews

Mock Interviews are offered to students who wish to improve upon their interviewing skills. Students are video taped during the mock interview, which is followed by a feedback session.

Vocational Testing

Both the Strong-Campbell Vocational Inventory and the Myers-Briggs Interest Inventory are administered by the Counseling Center in Rm. 503, Lowenstein Center and at Rose Hill. After you receive your results, you may discuss them further by arranging an appointment with Career Services.

Career Advisement Program

Students have the opportunity to meet with experienced alumni to discuss job functions and industries related to the students' interests, skills, and personal career goals.

We hope you will find this web site useful to your job search. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
