Computers on Campus

FB Technology Center

Located in Lowenstein Room 603, this computer lab is open only to business students. Software available includes word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, internet access, and programming. Programs and services of internet specifically to business students include:

• Project management, modeling, and forecasting software
• Lexis/Nexis
• Dow Jones News Retrieval
• First Call
• Bloomberg Financial Markets database

LC Microcomputer Lab

This computer lab is located on the ground floor of Lowenstein near the entrance to McMahon Hall. Both Compaq PC's and Apple Macintosh computers are available, and all of the computers are connected to the Internet. Besides Netscape and Internet Explorer, available programs include:

• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• WordPerfect (PC's only)
• Photoshop (Macs only)
• SPSS and other statistical programs (PC's only)
• AOL Instant Messenger, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo Messenger (on some computers)

The programs available are not always consistant among computers, so ask a student assistant if you need help. Also, if all you need to do is access to the Internet, the computers in Quinn Library tend to be faster and less likely to crash. Printing in the library and computer lab costs 10¢ a page. You can add money to your Fordham ID card (good for printing, copies, and some vending machines) in the library.

Monday through Thursday, 9am to 10pm; Friday, 9:00am to 8:00pm; Saturdays & Sundays 12pm to 6pm

Quinn Library

There are several Internet-connected computers just beyond the entrance to the library. These computers are intended for online research and are equipped with Netscape and Internet Explorer. Chatting and personal e-mailing are prohitbited, although this rule is usually only enforced if the library is busy. Printing in the library and computer lab costs 10¢ a page. You can add money to your Fordham ID card (good for printing, copies, and some vending machines) in the library. The library's hours are posted here.

Career Services Office

Three computers are available for students to use on any career-related task. Both Internet access and Microsoft Office are available, as well as a high quality laser printer. In addition, students can use an searchable electronic version of the Fordham University Alumni Directory. Duration of computer use is limited when others are waiting.

Hours of operation are from 10AM to 6PM, Monday to Thursday, and from 10AM to 5PM, Friday.
